The African Caribbean Centre of Central Alberta is hosting a private Movie Screening Fundraising Event. ACCoCA has been a registered non-profit organization with the Alberta government since June 8, 2022. Our vision is a socially cohesive and prosperous cultural diaspora within Central Alberta. The biggest challenge is that we need more adequate space to operate from because of the expansion of activities; due to increased demand for our programs and services. We were offered a building to rent that would be suitable for our needs. We accepted and moved into our new facility in Nov 2023. Our new ACCoCA Centre has an office, meeting room, kitchen, storage, and storefront space for the future Afro-Caribbean Coffee Shop.
To assist costs of the new ACCoCA Centre, we are hosting a fundraising event on Feb 1, 2024. This event is a private screening of the newly released “The Color Purple” movie. The event will take place at the Galaxy Movie Theatre, Liberty Ave. Red Deer County. This will be a Red-Carpet experience, complemented with wine and food. We will be recognizing 15 local women and their contributions to the community that support Diversity and Inclusion in Central Alberta. There will be interviews with Molly Stogrin from Pattison Media and radio personnel after the movie. Location
